Kelly serves as lead staff on all of the Community Foundation's community leadership projects and initiatives.  In addition to serving as a key external project leader, Kelly is also responsible for the management of 200 community projects held within the Community Foundation.  She provides oversight to development, external grants, marketing & communications, and the youth alliance program. Kelly has been on staff at the Community Foundation for 13 years.  She previously provided oversight to grantmaking and scholarship functions.   

A Battle Creek native, Kelly received a Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University and Master of Science degree from Virginia Tech.

As a district sales manager for Purina Mills in central and eastern Michigan, Kelly was responsible for retail product sales, training and technical support.  Prior to that position, she was the extension youth specialist for the Department of Animal Science at Michigan State University, where she had primary responsibilities for the state’s youth horse program.  She has also held positions as the extension 4-H youth agent with The Ohio State University, with program responsibility primarily in youth and volunteer training and administration, and with Virginia Tech’s Department of Agricultural Economics, with a focus on the Rural Economic Analysis Program.
